Birthing Digital Be-In 13

It has been 16 years and, as of May 29, 2004, 13 Digital Be-Ins in San Francisco. What is now a favorite public event began in 1989 here as our little private party held during the January Macworld Expo. It was Verbum magazine's Digital Art Be-In, to be precise, a gathering of the artists and propeller heads who were incubating the digital media revolution. The Be-In evolved and grew through the '90s from a relatively modest 200 person affair to a spectacle of over 3500 by number 6. It rode the waves of cyberculture and dot-com insanity, a celebratory laboratory of ideas and ideals, a one-night tradeshow-rally-rave that put the visionaries on stage, the inventors behind their inventions, and gave the artists free reign to morph reality itself...

With thanks and appreciation to those many cool heads who helped put this co-creation together in years past, we are pleased to announce Digital Be-In 13 - The Transparent Network - to be held at our favorite venue in the City: the SOMARTS cultural center. It is shaping up quite nicely as of this nanosecond. Our team has been working hard and this week the info goes out: the code is released. Birth is now immanent!
